After starting working life as a Glasgow medic, I ventured down to Newcastle for registrar jobs. Three children later, I’ve ended up staying.

I have been a consultant at the University Hospital of North Durham since 2008.

Professional interests have metamorphosed over the years from vascular and pre-assessment/exercise testing to paediatrics in the last half decade or so. Lucky enough to have worked in a DGH where this is possible!

I have lots of outside interests which include cycling (predictably enough) and also fairly predictably, running and swimming. Skiing and sailing are also high on the list of favourite things to do as is going to the odd music gig. I also enjoy indoctrinating my family into enjoying all of the above.

Looking forward to retirement so I can do more of the non-work stuff, although I have got to wait till 2032 for this.
